Hi everyone, I'm Ben, and for over a decade now, I've been immersed in the world of marine mechanics. It's more than just a job to me; it's a constant learning experience, and a deep commitment to ensuring boat owners can enjoy their time on the water without worry. I'm not just a mechanic who replaces parts; I see myself as a problem solver, a diagnostician, and a dedicated advocate for keeping your boat in peak condition. I believe in preventative maintenance, thorough inspections, and clear communication to avoid costly breakdowns and maximize your time enjoying the open water.

I take immense pride in providing professional, efficient, and reliable service. I understand that your boat is more than just a machine; it's an investment and a source of enjoyment. Will Hitchen

A local looking to serve locals. My name is Will and I’ve been working as a marine technician, building my skills in the industry for 20+ years after completing my training at Malaspina University and BCIT in 2003. I have worked in busy shops throughout my career, handling everything from engine repair and service to new boat rigging and electronics installation.

I have honed my skills and kept up with current manufacturer training. I eventually ended up managing a shop with four technicians working directly under me. After many years of consideration, I decided that my skills would be used best working on my own to provide the best service possible to those willing to look outside of the large shops, so I started my own business, Shiptech Marine Repair.

I promise to provide a more customer-friendly approach and move away from the cutthroat dealership mentality. I pride myself in being thorough but efficient, I provide a professional service with proper diagnostics and tools; of course, also bringing along my years of knowledge, experience and expertise. Additionally, I have extensive training on all complicated systems involved in keeping modern boats running efficiently with as little downtime as possible.

I offer an “outside of the shop” option that saves you time and money and keeps you boating stress-free!
